Thalia with Todd Bolender at party after THREE WOMEN…THREE LIFETIMES…
ONE NIGHT Gala Performance (July 30, 1998)
Todd had been a dance partner to Thalia back in the 40’s (NYC). In the late
1970’s, Thalia engaged Todd to stage his ballet, The Still Point for the Jackson
Ballet Co., a ballet he originally choreographed for the Joffrey Ballet.
Following the renewal of this professional association, Thalia and Todd
continually remained in touch. In the early 80’s Todd became Artistic Director
of the Kansas City Ballet and engaged Thalia to teach her noted course of
training for teachers of ballet.
Todd Bolender is an icon of American dance history. He was a Principal Dancer
with Balanchine’s New York City Ballet, including the company’s
inaugural year (1948.) |
