The caption under this photo states that the company will be presenting the debut of Borodin’s Opera, Prince Igor in the Andes. The director and “diva” of the company is Marie Koustnezoff Massenet.

Maria Koustnezoff (also known as Nicoliava) had married the nephew of the composer Jules Massenet This Opera Co. was a wedding present from her husband.

Michel Fokine was the company’s ballet master and choreographer. Thalia worked with Fokine for the first time performing in his famous Prince Igor.
